The Robert A. Quisno Resident Wellness
Center offers residents an indoor
walking track, shuffleboard, billiards,
aquatic exercises, fitness equipment,
and every Monday a wellness session on
topics such as nutrition, mental health,
spirituality and other subjects of
interest to residents.
Elder School
Across the U.S. adult education
programs and Elderhostels are
flourishing at colleges and universities
as older citizens pursue one of their
favorite pastimes, continuing education.
At Mount Pleasant, it was the desire to
keep on learning, that led to the
establishment of Elder School, that
began in the fall of 1990. Designed to
enrich the process of lifelong learning,
Elder School has attracted instructors
and professors from area universities,
schools and the community-at-large.
The semi-annual schedule of Elder
School offers courses that provide
factual information -- explore and
challenge ideas -- foster enjoyment
through the arts -- examine morality and
belief systems and -- develop practical
skills. Elder School sessions are held
throughout the months of October and
March.

SeniorNet
SeniorNet is a nonprofit organization
whose goal is to build an international
community of computer-using older
adults. SeniorNet provides older adults
with access to computer technologies and
empowers them to share their knowledge
and wisdom.
More than 75,000 seniors throughout
the United States have been introduced
to computers through SeniorNet.
Mount Pleasant SeniorNet offers
computer classes specifically designed
for older adults. Classes focus on
teaching useful applications such as
word processing for writing letters or
journals, databases for organizing
information, spreadsheets for financial
management and telecommunications for
obtaining useful information and
communicating with others.
Mount Pleasant's Children's Village
Mount Pleasant's Children's Village is a
licensed facility catering to the needs
of children ages 6 weeks to 12 years.
Our goals include helping children
develop their self-confidence,
independence and self-discipline;
increasing awareness and understanding
of aging as a normal life process; and
receiving love and support from older
adults.

Our infant program
offers a teacher to child ratio of
1-to-5 infants. We provide as homelike
an environment as possible Toddler
Program:
Expansion of language skills and
self-help development are the goals of
our toddler program
with a teacher to child ratio of 1-to-7.
Weekly reports are provided to parents.
In our pre-school program
we focus on self-help skills and
pre-kindergarten skills development. We
have a teacher to child ratio is 1-to-12
for three-year olds and a teacher to
child ratio is 1-to-14 for four-year
olds. We use an Early Start curriculum.
Independence and social skills are
stressed in the school age
program. The teacher to child
ratio is 1-to-18. A wide range of
activities are planned for non-school
days and summer.
